ABOUT US
Hello! My name is Jessica
McCumbee and I'm currently 19
years old. Getting all the important
stuff out of the way- I graduated from
Northern Nash High School in 2007
and am currently attending Nash
Community College. My parents
always made sure to surround me
with animals while growing up,
whether it was with horses, birds,
dogs, or cats.
For the past three years I
have worked for Karen
Haywood of
Camelot
Yorkies. While there, I’ve
learned to care for and
bathe many Yorkies,
Maltese, Pekingese, and
even a Bulldog!

It has been such a great
experience and has
definitely taught me a lot.

Two days a week are
currently spent grooming
the dogs at Camelot.
While working at Camelot Yorkies I have been around many
handicapped dogs. For example, I have learned how to handle
and provide for animals that are both blind and unable to walk.
In 2007 my mom and I hosted a puppy that was paralyzed from
the waist down. For over a month we did everything from
exercising his legs, to making him diapers.
Mary, who is my mom and
co-partner, is also greatly
experienced with animals.
She owned many pets
growing up that even
included several horses!
While she’s currently a
retired pre-school teacher
(she worked at our Church
for over TEN years), she
helps out at Camelot
Yorkies as well.

To this day, precisely nine dogs, four cats, one hamster,
and a rabbit have been a HUGE part of my family! They
each shaped me into who I am and helped make my
childhood perfect. Over time, many have passed on and my
family gradually became smaller. Three dogs currently
remain: Lily and Lacey (Yorkshire Terriers) and Chase
(Pekingese/Yokie mix) and three cats: Xelloss (Siamese)
Diana (Calico) and Windy (Tabby).
